The Acer Holo 360 camera was unveiled today at a special event held at Acer. The device supports Wi-Fi and can also use a SIM card to connect to mobile data (LTE speed). The device itself is not a mobile phone, but it runs Android and can make calls without connecting to a separate device, such as a smartphone.
The device is capable of running apps including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Acer said that the device is using Android operating system solutions, not that the device directly runs Android.
Externally, the device has at least one microphone (possibly more), and physical buttons for volume, on/off (and lock screen), and camera shutter. On the back of it, it is made of metallic gray with a darker gray metal edge and the buttons are chrome-plated.
However, does smart phones in 2017 really need cellular services? This is indeed a good question for Millennials. How often do you use a smart phone call application?
At present, Acer has not disclosed the timing of the release of the Holo 360, but Baidu VR expects the product to be available in the next few months.
