Seoul Semiconductor's new Acrich COB debut at the 2017 Japan Lighting Show

The COB introduced this time is a new concept of LED, using Acrich technology on COB, namely multi-junction chip technology (MJT) and AC drive technology. Nam Ki-Bum, deputy director of the Seoul Semiconductor Research Institute, said that the Acrich COB launched this time is not a pure performance upgrade, but a new concept LED that combines high-voltage Acrich technology and COB technology in Seoul Semiconductor. . In addition to the MJT COB and AC COB series, Seoul Semiconductor will also launch two new COB products during the year to actively enter the global high-end LED lighting market.

Acrich COB has two product lines: MJT COB and AC COB. MJT COB uses multi-junction chip technology to achieve the industry's highest luminous efficiency of 168lm / W; AC COB uses AC direct drive technology, no power supply, greatly improving design convenience and product life.

The product range includes 11 6W~180W MJT COB products and 6 120V~230V Acrich COB products. Seoul Semiconductor will also provide a variety of solutions, such as optical, brackets, etc. to help customers create high-quality lighting fixtures.

And Seoul Semiconductor has also developed a high-profile COB product for studio lighting (spotlights) that uses MJT COB technology for high color rendering and optical properties to maintain optimum performance in studio lighting.

MJT COB is a combination of Seoul Semiconductor's multi-junction chip technology and COB technology, and Seoul Semiconductor has its related patents. Drive under high voltage and divide each LED chip into multiple sub-units to greatly improve light efficiency and reliability.

The highest luminous efficiency is 168lm/W (@5000K, Ra80, Tj=85°C, 40W), which is 6% higher than the existing products. To achieve the same brightness, MJT COB only needs 54 chips, while traditional COB requires 144. At the same time as the number of chips is reduced, the defects caused by wire bonding are also greatly improved.

The AC COB can be driven by an AC power supply of 120V or 230V. Acrich IC completely replaces the bulky and short-lived power supply, saving about 25% of the circuit cost and greatly improving space utilization and service life.

The two series are suitable for commercial and industrial lighting, as well as a variety of indoor and outdoor lighting areas with high quality and high luminous efficiency like street lamps.

Seoul Semiconductor has developed COB original technology for more than 10 years and has hundreds of COB related patents. Once someone infringes patents, Seoul Semiconductor will not hesitate to exercise its patent rights.
