Vishay Releases New QPL Tantalum Niobium Film Chip Resistors

Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announced the launch of a new surface mount chip resistor, the E/H (Ta 2 N) QPL , which has been tested by QPL MIL-PRF-55342. 100 ppm "M" grade failure rate. The new E/H (Ta 2 N) QPL resistors are fabricated using moisture-resistant tantalum nitride resistive film technology, providing enhanced performance specifications for defense and aerospace applications, including 0.1% tolerance and 25ppm/°C TCR.

E/H (Ta 2 N) QPL resistors are suitable for control systems in defense and aerospace applications where applications need to be considered for working in wet conditions or for long term storage problems. The device's tantalum nitride resistive film ensures moisture levels greater than 50 times the MIL-PRF-55342 limit.

The E/H (Ta 2 N) Mil-PRF-55342 thin film resistor has an extremely low noise of less than -25 dB and a voltage coefficient of 0.5 ppm/V. The wound end of the resistor uses a very viscous adhesive layer. The overlying electroplated nickel gate layer accommodates +150 ° C operating conditions with less than 0.010 Ω for typical resistance.

The new resistors are available in M55342 dimensions from 01 to 12, with power ratings from 50mW to 1000mW and operating voltages from 40V to 200V. The resistance ranges from 49.9 to 3.3M depending on the tolerance.

E/H (Ta 2 N) Mil-PRF-55342 film capacitors are available now in volume production from eight weeks to ten weeks.
