Seoul Semiconductor: Only one of the four products indicted by Japan has determined the infringement

South Korea's LED giant Seoul Semiconductor announced a press release announcing that the Northern California District Court has pronounced that only one of Nichia's four products previously infringed by the company has infringement. According to the press release, the infringing product was confirmed to be "side view LED 902" for mobile phone backlights sold in the United States, and the product has been discontinued.

Seoul Semiconductor believes that Nichia's US design patents have no effect and have requested the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to re-examine the four patents involved in the litigation. The same Japanese-Asian design patent was invalidated by the Korea Intellectual Property Office in December 2006.
