According to South Korean media reports, Samsung Electronics plans to acquire all the shares of the joint venture company Samsung Mobile Display Co., Ltd. (SMD) and to include SMD as a wholly-owned subsidiary. SMD is an AMOLED manufacturing company jointly established by Samsung Electronics and Samsung SDI, and has an absolute market advantage in the global OLED panel market.
According to the report, Samsung Electronics pointed out in the data submitted to the Korea Stock Exchange that in order to improve the multiplication effect, it plans to carry out business consolidation (accumulation SMD), but no final decision has yet been made.
