Overview:

The DC/AC converter circuit, that is, the inverter circuit, can convert DC power to AC power. In the existing electric energy production mode, both the chemical energy battery and the solar battery belong to the direct current power supply, and when it is required to supply power to the alternating current load, it is necessary to undergo DC/AC conversion. In addition, there are public power grids and various independent power sources. It is the most common way to supply AC power to these AC loads. However, with the development of production, a considerable part of the power load has special requirements on the power quality. Power these loads. To meet these requirements, DC/AC conversion is also required. Direct conversion of DC power required to convert DC power, such as solar cells or chemical cells, into a load is called direct conversion. Inverting conversion in a multi-stage conversion system using an AC-DC-AC structure is called indirect conversion.
According to the form of the DC side filter, the conventional inverter circuit can be classified into two types: a voltage source and a current source. The voltage source inverter inputs a DC voltage and outputs an AC voltage. The amplitude and frequency of the output voltage can be constant or varied depending on the application. Its circuit structure is shown in Figure 1. The current source inverter needs to input a constant power supply, and its circuit structure is shown in Figure 2.

Voltage source inverters and current source inverters have the following common disadvantages.
(1) They are either step-up or step-down converters and are not possible as step-up/step-down converters. In other words, they have a limited output voltage range that is either lower or higher than the input voltage. If a wide input voltage range is required, an additional DC/DC converter is required to affect the efficiency. .
(2) Their ability to resist electromagnetic interference is poor. When the bridge arm is short-circuited or open due to electromagnetic interference, the converter is easily damaged and affects their reliability.
(3) For different loads, the main circuit is different. When the load properties change, the main circuit must change.
Although conventional voltage source and current source inverters have disadvantages, electric drive systems based on conventional voltage source and current source inverters are also very popular. Therefore, researching a simple topology, high efficiency, and high reliability inverter to replace the traditional inverter will bring great economic and social benefits.
