In addition, orders for the metal forming machine tools segment increased by 13%. The increase was mainly driven by demand from domestic and foreign markets. However, orders for metal-cutting machines that accounted for 70% of total machine tool orders rose by only 3%.
Schafer concluded that, on the whole, the German machine tool industry will continue to maintain a steady high-level development trend without being affected by many crises and uncertainties in various regions of the world.
