Emerging all-IP network hit: Xilinx launches next-generation IP video connectivity solution

Xilinx's latest IP video transmission core and reference design support SMPTE ST 2022-7 seamless (non-disruptive service) protection switching standard with FPGA mezzanine cards (FMC) using Xilinx Alliance members inrevium AMERICA and Faste Technology The Xilinx Kintex®-7 FPGA is supplied with the Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC. In addition, the SMPTE ST 2022 compliant IP core includes a new multi-channel IP video transmission forward error correction (FEC) engine capable of handling up to 512 transport streams.

To support IEEE1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP)-based timing and synchronization technologies in local and wide area networks, Xilinx has developed a corresponding IP core and reference design to support the distribution of video synchronization signals over IP networks for remote video.
