Desertification is expected to be intelligently monitored to achieve robotic formation "patrol"

Recently, the second International Symposium on Intelligent Deserts in the Future was held at Shanghai Jiaotong University. The theme of this conference was “Smart Desert: Making Cities Safer”. Experts from China, the United States, Germany and other countries revolved around desertification. A number of issues were discussed.

It is understood that a new scientific research is expected to solve the problem of land desertification and desertification that the world is facing. The technology was jointly completed by the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University, the Cold and Arid Regions and Environmental Engineering Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the KdLab Laboratory of the University of Pennsylvania, and the Ningxia Key Laboratory of Desert Intelligence Information Intelligence of Ningxia University. The researchers passed the sand. A series of intelligent desert technologies, such as new sensor technology, wireless sensor network and transmission technology, sand-based robot technology , and desert new energy technology, have developed a sand-based robot with automatic positioning function.

With the help of sensor networks and other information means, the robot can form a formation that can be automatically positioned, and "patrol" in the desert hinterland to conduct all-weather sand monitoring and information acquisition. According to the team member Professor Li Xinwan, the desert hinterland is the main source of sandstorms. At present, it is difficult to obtain sufficient information only by ground weather stations and ground dust stations. The use of sand-based robots can provide the causes and prediction methods of sandstorms. More information.
