Continue to be the third: ASRock plans to ship 10 million motherboards

ASRock has set a target for shipments of mainboards in 2012. It strives to exceed the 10 million mark, which has increased by nearly 30% compared to the same period last year. It has continued to follow ASUS and Gigabyte and has occupied the third position in the motherboard industry.

In the fourth quarter of this year, shipments of ASRock motherboards are expected to reach 1.9 million units. This will result in a total of 7.8 million shipments for the entire year of 2011, which is 13.3% lower than the original target of 9 million units.

ASRock commits itself to the low-end market all year round, but its profit margin is too narrow. So in recent years, ASRock has continued to impact the high-end market dominated by Asus and Gigabyte. This year, it also released a number of relatively inexpensive but highly competitive high-end motherboards, especially with Intel. The launch of the X79, ASRock pushes new products, and recently it has also launched Fatal1ty x79 Professional for e-sports players, the "Front-touch Edition" eight memory slots X79 Extreme6/GB, and two X79 Extreme9s wearing Optimus Prime and Hornet vests. In addition, there are three Mini-ITX mini-size Atom D2000 series small boards.

90% of ASRock’s total revenue comes from the motherboard, while the rest comes from the HTPC, which sells for $300-1000. In addition, ASRock has also tried to enter the server motherboard market, ready to share a share of the potential of cloud computing.
