[Abstract] Apple has recently roused our interest in three wireless devices that have recently applied for certification to the FCC.
Eskimo Recently, Apple submitted an application for the certification of a mysterious wireless device to the FCC. This is already the third wireless device that the company recently applied for.
It is reported that this mysterious wireless device model is A1845, just in between the earlier two devices (A1844 and A1846), but none of these models and Apple's existing devices are not connected.
Because Apple requires the permanent confidentiality of most of the application documents, including pictures, instructions for use, and schematics, it is still unclear what the devices actually are. They only know that they all support Bluetooth LE and NFC.
When Apple's first certification application was exposed, there was speculation that it might be related to the new Apple TV. However, according to the filing information, the regulatory text was etched directly on the back of the device, which made it look less like a consumer-oriented product.
As a result, this wireless device is more like that used internally by Apple, such as a product display unit or an iBeacon device in a retail store. Prior to this, Apple had applied for certification of similar equipment to the FCC.
If these devices are really for internal use, then we may never be able to see what they really have. Of course, we can also boldly imagine that it might be something else, such as the Siri smart speaker that was rumored some time ago, or the new Wi-Fi router.
