Texas Instruments (TI) announced the launch of a stereo Class D audio amplifier with a power per channel of 3.2 W and a 3 W mono Class D audio amplifier, both of which support fast gain boost SmartGain automatic gain control (AGC) With programmable dynamic range compression (DRC) function. In order to avoid increasing the peak voltage while increasing the Speaker volume, the TPA2028D1 and TPA2026D2 integrate DRC to automatically increase the soft volume, allowing designers to compress the audio dynamic range to match the speaker dynamic range. Designers targeting mobile phones, laptops, and portable DVD players can benefit from this smaller, low-cost amplifier, which can increase audio volume and clarity while extending battery life.

• The output power of these devices is higher than that of the industry-leading competitive products, and they can provide higher volume:
o TPA2028D1 can drive a power of 3 W per channel for a 4 ohm resistor under a voltage of 5 V, and the output power is increased by 43%;
o TPA2026D2 can drive 3.2 W per channel for 4 ohm resistors under 5 V voltage, the output power is increased by 52%, and the quiescent current drops sharply by 2 times, which can extend the battery life.
• The offset voltage drops sharply by 10 times, which greatly reduces the click and click sound, which can achieve clearer audio;
• Programmable SmartGain DRC supports selectable compression ratios, with a gain of up to 30 dB, which can greatly increase the volume without increasing the peak voltage.

TPA2028D1 adopts 1.63 mm x 1.63 mm, 0.5 mm pitch 9-ball WCSP package; TPA2026D2 adopts 2.2 mm x 2.2 mm, 0.5 mm pitch 16-ball WCSP package. Both products are now available.
