The Si2155 TV tuner is available in a compact 5mm & TImes; 5mm QFN package. By minimizing board size and device count and supporting low-cost external components, the Si2155 TV tuner enables TV manufacturers to reduce system cost. The Si2155IC integrates a complete signal path from the RF input to the IF output. Compared to traditional discrete MOPLL-based tuner solutions, the Si2155-based design reduces over 100 peripheral devices, including low noise amplifier (LNA), surface acoustic wave (SAW) filters, and other silicon tuners. A tracking filter inductor is required, which makes the hybrid tuner the easiest to design and the lowest BOM cost. The Si2155 also supports cost-effective on-board tuner designs with low-cost external components.
