Shanghai MMC 2016 Ends and Looks at These Redefined Cars | 新智驾

The 2016 International Vehicle Interconnect and Smart Transport Exhibition (MMC 2016) officially closed on August 27th.

Hundreds of smart travel related companies compete in the Shanghai New International Expo Center: from solar cars to smart motorcycles, from smart buses to car rental platforms, from ADAS to voice interactions... and almost everything you can think of about smart cars.

This time, the new wisdom drive is not absent. Let's take a look at what we see here. What are the redefined car in this exhibition and how it subverts our traditional look and feel.

1. Hanergy Motor

From the gate of W5 Hall of Shanghai New International Expo Center, you can see Hanergy's booth at a glance. In this exhibition, Hanergy exhibited Solar O and Solar A in its Solar series of solar-powered cars.

Hanergy Solar Powered Solar O

Solar O uses a body design on both sides of the body in a plate-like manner to achieve the maximum solar panel irradiation area.

Hanergy Solar Powered Solar A

Solar A has a unique shape. While the vehicle model greatly reduces the drag coefficient, it also enhances the stability of high-speed driving and maximizes the laying area of solar chips. Particularly worth mentioning is that this car is also equipped with a solar chip under the front windshield of the front of the main instrument panel. This chip alone supplies power to the multimedia equipment, thus maximizing the use of solar energy for the vehicle.

Zhang Bin, senior vice president of Hanergy Holding Group, stated at the exhibition that Hanergy has formed a unique product technology advantage through years of investment and accumulation in thin-film power generation technology, and has subversively developed a solar-driven vehicle. Based on this, it will further integrate with smart traffic information technologies such as 'cloud computing' and believe that it will bring new and disruptive green smart transportation experience to users."

Vision goes into vision, and the defects of these vehicles cannot be ignored. The first is that solar power generation is greatly affected by floating dust, and the impact on power generation efficiency can reach 70%. Especially in cities like Beijing, where there are many smog days, how to ensure that the surface of thin film battery panels is clean is a big problem; at the same time, the weather is an influence. What are the important factors for solar battery charging and how do it rains? Solar-powered cars will be at a loss.

In the end, if solar cars rely on charging piles to solve the requirements of battery life, their advantages are themselves pseudo-propositions.

2, singularity car

Singularity Cars at MMC2016

Singularity Motors is a frequent visitor to various exhibitions. I believe many auto enthusiasts have witnessed this unique electric vehicle with a gull wing at other exhibitions. At the exhibition site, Zhi Hai, the CEO of Zhijingyouxing, paid a special platform to introduce this cool car to the audience and expounded his concept of building a car: building a car is not a goal, but it is brought to the user through the car terminal. Many related services, and the user experience of these services to achieve the ultimate, truly understand the user.

He also said that Singular Point Motors does not want to rely on selling cars to make profits, but instead adopts a mode of operation in which all kinds of related services are provided after the car is sold.

In an on-site interview, Shen Haijun told Xinzhi Driving that because of the current qualification restrictions, Singular Point Automobile will cooperate with other traditional depots to jointly build vehicles with the aim of letting prototypes land as soon as possible. The official statement is that the car will be mass-produced in the second half of 2017, and also revealed a detail: The production car will be opened to the door because there are many restrictions on the gullwing door.

Everyone has to wait.

3, Kaiyun Automobile

Kaiyun VV intelligent electric concept car

At the booth of the Kaiyun Motors, there were many such small concept cars that appeared to be compact and smart.

VV is a city smart electric vehicle built by Kaiyun and Lifan Group. The size of the measurement is 227510851452. The front and rear double row layout is suitable for two people. It can barely accommodate 3 people. The maximum speed is 40km/h and the vehicle weight is 300kg. The chassis system uses four-wheel independent suspension instead of the conventional front and rear axle system. The “sandwich structure” of the body system guarantees a safe collision. The core layer of the sandwich structure is a steel pipe, and the middle layer is a foam material, which plays a good role in heat insulation and buffering. In this way, the body of the VV is reduced by about 60% compared to the conventional sheet metal body.

In fact, Kaiyun has already launched the electric pickup PICKMAN earlier, I believe many readers have heard; and this more "micro" car was developed before PICKMAN, was also called C2, and now has a new name: VVmove.

It is said that this miniature electric vehicle will be available two months later.

4, Haval driverless car

Haval driverless car dazzling

In the area where the pavilion is relatively close, a uniquely shaped car on the Harvard stand attracted the attention of the new driver because the lidar device on the roof is particularly conspicuous, and the wording of the military transport institute of the car body is also given to people. A sense of mystery.

After an exchange with the booth staff, we learned that this is a self-driving car built on the H8 and is the first public display of the Haval self-driving car.

According to the staff, the rear bumper in the rear of this car is equipped with a Delphi 77GHz millimeter-wave radar, which can be used to detect the rear car; the front bumper is equipped with an Ibeo 4-line laser radar for forward collision avoidance; The monocular camera at the glass can be used to identify lane lines, traffic lights, signage, and pedestrians; the roof is a Velodyne 64-line laser radar.

It is reported that the car is a test vehicle jointly built by Harvard and the Institute of Military Transportation. It can realize rapid automatic driving of highways and cities and realizes automatic lane change without manual intervention to meet SAE L3 level. The car won the championship in the 2015 China Smart Car Challenge.

At present, this type of vehicle is still being tested and it will not be known when it will eventually enter the general public's garage.

5, Hyperloop and "flying car"

In addition to the prototypes presented by the above four manufacturers, there are also Hyperloop (capsule high-speed rail) overseas and the relevant person in charge of Terrafugia. Compared to the Hyperloop currently in the laboratory development stage, Terrafugia already has two products ( "Cars that can fly" and are in the field. The common point is that none of them can bring their products to the scene.

According to Hyperloop CEO Dirk Ahlborn, the main body of the Hyperloop will begin within three years. If this can be done, the Hyperloop, as a fifth-generation transportation tool, will combine the aircraft with the high-speed rail. The train can be suspended at the speed of about 1,200 km/h in the vacuum pipeline.

HTT CEO Dirk Ahlborn likes Hyperloop

For 10 years, Terrafugia has been developing two products: one for Transition and the other for TF-X. At present, the company is looking for strategic partners and investment partners, hoping to bring this company to the next stage through a cooperative relationship, and quickly promote the landing and mass production of products.

But things don't seem to be so simple. “Because of the different laws of motion, the design principles for airplanes and cars are necessarily different and cannot be exhaustive. They have a small number of passengers, large size, high vertical landing difficulty, difficult driving operations, and high prices. Although most of the specific problems posed by flying cars are proposed solutions, they are mostly theoretical and the actual results are not satisfactory."

Whether the “flying car” can actually take off will take time to verify.
