About the cooperation of the three parties

With the cooperation of the three parties, Intel's role is attracting attention. It is transforming from a PC company to a company that drives cloud computing and hundreds of millions of smart, connected computing devices. As cars become more intelligent, the importance of computing power is becoming more prominent, and this is where Intel's strengths lie.

Chen Wei, General Manager, Intel IoT Division, China

The launch of the "Smart Cockpit Platform" is based on the Intel® AtomTM onboard processor Apollo Lake, which was released at the Barcelona Internet of Things Solutions Conference on October 25 this year. Chen Wei, general manager of Intel's IoT Division China, said: "Today's 'Smart Connected Cockpit Platform' jointly released by Neusoft, FAW Red Flag and Intel is an important milestone in our new intelligent driving experience. The platform is based on Intel. ® AtomTM on-board processor is Intel's new processor designed specifically for in-vehicle experience. We look forward to working with partners to launch more Intel® AtomTM on-board processor automotive solutions to drive the automotive industry. ""

In the interview after the meeting, Chen Wei said, “This is our third-generation automotive product. This generation of products has done a lot of integration at the chip level, such as multi-sensor integration, multi-use synchronization, all in the chip. It has achieved micro-second synchronization, including certification in the automotive industry. The product we launched this time is called E3900, and we also have a special A3900 for the car, so its requirements and certification are more comprehensive than the E3900 industrial grade. ”

Intel's investment in intelligent driving is mainly in four parts: one is communication: 5G technology; the other is the intelligent input of terminal devices; the third is the input of the data center; the fourth is the cooperation with Neusoft, which is the interface of human-computer interaction. Integration of the instrument and IVI system.

Chen Wei believes that this time the Neusoft and FAW Red Flag selected Intel's platform is mainly due to Intel load integration and operating system virtualization. It can support multiple services with one chip, which can improve the experience of the entire human-machine interface.

Dr. Li Qian, Director of Information Technology of FAW Technology Center, said that China FAW should be said to be a very early enterprise in the field of intelligent driving. Research on autonomous driving has been started since 2003. There is a deep technical accumulation in the field of vehicle positioning and navigation, including vehicle communication and automatic control. In 2013, along with the launch of the first Red Flag H7 sedan, many high-end intelligent driving technologies have actually been integrated into this product. Regarding the cooperation of the three parties, he said: "As the leading companies in their respective fields, FAW Hongqi, Neusoft and Intel jointly launched the 'Smart Cockpit Platform', and the three parties will cooperate to promote technological innovation and experience innovation in the driving field. The industry has brought about a transformative impact and set a benchmark for the long-term development of the automotive industry."

Neusoft Group has always been a software company in the impression of everyone. In fact, as early as five years ago, Neusoft established a hardware department and started product design. At present, there are 3,600 people specializing in car electronics. Senior Vice President and General Manager of Neusoft Automotive Solutions Business Unit, Mr. Jian Guodong said: “Neusoft entered the automotive electronics field in 1991 and has more than 20 years of experience and accumulation in the automotive electronics industry. Neusoft’s cooperation with Intel and FAW Red Flag. Based on their respective advantages, we will give full play to their respective potentials, actively explore new business models, promote the transformation and transformation of the automotive industry, and promote the integration and development of technology and automobile industry."

At the press conference, it is expected that the red flag car equipped with the "smart cockpit platform" will be mass-produced as early as 2018, and the current model is in the process of development. Intel's latest A3900 series chips for the car will be available in the first quarter of 2017, and chip samples are currently available to FAW, Neusoft and other partners.

There are also differences in commonality with Internet companies.

According to relevant surveys, in 2013, 18% of consumers expressed their desire to buy driverless cars; in 2014, 50% of consumers expressed the desire to buy people to drive cars; now, more than one-third of consumers believe that no one Driving a car will be "the future of driving." At the same time, the driverless market is also growing rapidly. It is estimated that by 2025, the global driverless car market will reach 42 billion US dollars; in 2030, there will be 120 million unmanned cars on the road; in 2035, driverless cars will account for four points of global car sales. one.

Not only hardware manufacturers, but also Internet vendors are optimistic about the broad prospects of unmanned driving in the future. Alibaba and LeTV have already launched their own in-vehicle systems. The Roewe RX 5 equipped with YunOS has already been mass-produced.

On how to look at the problems of Internet companies building cars, Meng Lingjun, general manager of the technical department of Neusoft Group's automotive electronics division, told Ji Wei. "Many Internet companies have different needs for car manufacturing. It is possible that its entertainment system is made by itself. These Internet Enterprises are more concerned about its communication, and for the future of artificial intelligence, many companies may have established their own R&D center in Silicon Valley or Germany to do this work. There are also some Internet companies that build cars, and this part of their work also needs to find Tier1. Let's do it.” He believes that in fact, the product planning of Internet companies and the product planning released today are similar from an intelligent perspective.

In terms of driverlessness, the difference between Internet companies and hardware manufacturers, Chen Wei is so treated.

"Whether it is a system or a service Internet company to do the Internet of Things, it is to build a software and hardware platform, in order to support updated user services in the future." Chen Wei told Ji Wei. "Because Internet companies serve the client." There is a certain accumulation, so they want to intervene in a variety of carriers, and the car is a good carrier. The thing that Ali does is to integrate the services on the Internet into the car experience. The cooperation has different commonalities. We can integrate a car and human-computer interaction interface system on a chip and hardware level to support more services in the future. As for YunOS, or other services, can support."

In the driverless arena, Intel has the unique advantage of providing end-to-end driverless solutions from cars to networks to the cloud. Intel offers a wide range of resources for driverless collaboration: in-car computing; powerful cloud and a machine learning solution; high bandwidth, low latency connectivity; powerful memory and FPGA technology; human interface and security technology. Currently, Intel is constantly investing in these technologies to achieve driverlessness. At the same time, the realization of driverlessness requires a global ecosystem support. To this end, Intel is working with experts in the automotive, technology and other fields to address the challenges facing autonomous driving.
